When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.

Here let's explore the importance of dietary habits in drug free living. We'll see few basic but important aspects like what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, how much to eat, etc.

When to eat

Eat only when you are really hungry.

Don't eat just for taste.

Don't eat for the sake of time in the clock.
"No medicine is necessary for him who eats after assuring himself that what he has already eaten has been digested", says Thiruvalluvar, the great Indian-Tamil saint and poet.

He reveals a simple but an important technique by which one can have a drug free living.

What to eat

A world-renowned spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev's expert view on this...

"What kind of food you eat should depend NOT on what you think about it, or on your values and ethics, but on what the body wants. Food is about the body. When it comes to food, don’t ask your doctors or your nutrition experts because these people keep changing their opinion every five years. When it comes to food, ask the body with what kind of food it is really happy. Try different foods and see how your body feels after eating the food. If your body feels very agile, energetic and nice, that means the body is happy. If the body feels lethargic and needs to be pumped up with caffeine or nicotine to stay awake, the body is not happy, isn’t it?

The food that you eat, should be from the earlier evolutions of life. And so which plants are the best always. If you want to eat meat, we suggest you fish foods because they are the early dimensions of organisms with flesh.

In this evolution, the closest on to the humans are mammals (that gives direct birth).
If you eat animals that has the similar body structure as yours, you would find almost impossible to completely digest the food."

How much to eat

Don't stuff food in stomach. The intelligent way of eating is...the quantity intake should be such that you are really hungry at your next meal time.

Gluttony is a moral crime !
On one side people suffer from various diseases due to over-eating. And at the same time people in poor countries are prone to many diseases due to starvation and malnourishment. Pity !
"We all share responsibility for the fact that populations are undernourished. Therefore it is necessary to arouse a sense of responsibility in individuals, especially among those more blessed with this world's goods." - Pope John XXIII

Why don't we share things with our fellow human beings ? Why don't we fill the gap ? What a beautiful place this world would be if we do so !
